Trade mission offers unique opportunity for collaboration with Japan
In close collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Japan, an interesting and diverse five-day horticultural program has been developed featuring the Japanese regions of Tokyo, Ibaraki, Chiba, Osaka, Mie, and Shizuoka. The program includes inspiring visits to Japanese universities, agri-tech companies and retailers, and provides for multiple networking opportunities and events on current topics such as ageing in the agricultural sector, urban food supply, and the role of Controlled Environment Agriculture in the future of Japanese food production. Naturally, a visit to Expo 2025 Osaka is also included.
One of the highlights of the mission will be the Exclusive CEA Symposium at World Expo Osaka, where Dutch horticultural expertise will take center stage. This key event will showcase the strength of Dutch horticulture – including sustainable cultivation systems, knowledge development and innovative technology – to a Japanese audience.
Additionally, the programming at World Expo 2025 will focus not only on bilateral relations between the Netherlands and Japan, but also on a more global level, with government representatives expressing interest in joining Westland’s initiative of establishing a Global Alliance of Horticulture Regions.
The participation fee is €950 per company (including two representatives), excluding travel and accommodation costs. Registration is open until Friday May 23, 2025.
