Rebuilding of Takii location Zeeland started

More than a year after a devastating fire, the symbolic first pile of Takii's new production- and breeding location in Zeeland, The Netherlands, sunk into the ground on Monday, November 28. The Japanese seed breeder seizes the opportunity to expand the site in Sint-Annaland.

In October last year, the location of Takii Europe in Sint-Annaland, the Netherlands, burned down almost completely. To everyone's relief, no one was injured in the fire. However, two sheds, seed stocks and the office were lost.

With help from the local community, the Zeeland team quickly found temporary accommodations for all employees and the rescued goods and inventory. The rebuilding is being used to upgrade the production and breeding location. Both the warehouses and the office have been expanded in the new building plan. The expansion enables the increase of breeding activities and the scale-up of seed production and seed cleaning, especially for Takii's 'SAHIN Home Garden' assortment. The new complex is scheduled to be completed by spring 2023.
