Log & Solve pairs unique, new moisture sensor Tentacles

Tentacles' unique sensor is available through Log & Solve from January. The sensor stands out for its insight into three moisture zones. Measuring at different levels with this sensor allows, among other things, accurate watering, more even cultivation and helps growers switch to alternative substrates.

A moisture sensor that measures in three zones of the pot provides knowledge and can help unify and optimise cultivation. Problems in cultivation often occur at different levels in the pot or slab. Causes are often found in the moisture or oxygen levels. The search for alternatives to peat gives rise to new cultivation methods.

Measurements when transitioning to new substrates
Together with sensors from Tentacles, Quantified, Sigrow and Aranet, Log & Solve makes measurement results transparent and the dashboard eases the transition to the deployment of peat-poor substrates at ornamental, vegetable and fruit growers.

Substrates with peat alternatives behave differently when it comes to water retention and release. A potting moisture sensor can help growers optimise their irrigation process and prevent over-watering or dehydration. This is crucial for plant health. And by accurately measuring moisture levels in the substrate, growers can use water and fertilisers more efficiently and save costs.

Plant resilience and crop management
Too much or too little water can promote diseases and pests. A pot moisture sensor allows plants to grow under optimal conditions and is mindful of plant resilience. Using a potting moisture sensor helps to optimise crop growth and yield with irrigation schedules.

Positive outcomes pilot
During the trials of linking the three-zone sensor to Log & Solve's cultivation dashboard, outcomes were surprisingly positive. The detailed results and overall picture make intervention before negative effects manifest themselves low-threshold.

About Log & Solve
