Five new pesticide labels expanded

Josh Mosiondz, minor use co-ordinator with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), has announced five new pesticide label expansions recently approved by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA).

Harvanta insecticide has been registered for control of blackheaded fireworm and suppression of cranberry tipworm in Canada. Harvanta was already labeled for management of insects on a wide range of crops in Canada. This minor use proposal was submitted by the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture and Food (BCMAF) as a result of minor use priorities established by growers and extension personnel.
Prism SG herbicide has been registered for control or suppression of labelled weeds on cranberries in Canada. Prism SG was already labeled for management of weeds on a wide range of crops in Canada. This minor use proposal was submitted by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Pest Management Centre (AAFC-PMC) as a result of minor use priorities established by growers and extension personnel.
