Five new pesticide labels expanded

Josh Mosiondz, minor use co-ordinator with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), has announced five new pesticide label expansions recently approved by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA).

  • Harvanta insecticide has been registered for control of blackheaded fireworm and suppression of cranberry tipworm in Canada. Harvanta was already labeled for management of insects on a wide range of crops in Canada. This minor use proposal was submitted by the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture and Food (BCMAF) as a result of minor use priorities established by growers and extension personnel.
  • Prism SG herbicide has been registered for control or suppression of labelled weeds on cranberries in Canada. Prism SG was already labeled for management of weeds on a wide range of crops in Canada. This minor use proposal was submitted by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Pest Management Centre (AAFC-PMC) as a result of minor use priorities established by growers and extension personnel.
