Deroose Plants Group and Sion Young Plants join forces in an exclusive partnership for the cultivation and sales of Phalaenopsis on the Asian market, starting in January 2024. As of early 2025, this partnership will offer Asian growers access to a varied range of high quality orchids.

Synergy of network, experience and collection

Sion Young Plants, well-known in the international world of Phalaenopsis breeding and propagation, not only offers diversity in genetics, but also expertise in the field of marketing and sales.  Deroose Plants Group is a worldwide supplier of young plant material of various tropical plants, offering plenty of experience and a wide network on the Asian market.

With this partnership, Deroose Plants Group will expand its portfolio with Sion Young Plants’ high quality Phalaenopsis. Sion, in their turn, will get the opportunity to introduce their genetics on the Asian market. Propagation of the products will take place at Deroose Plants Group, enabling both parties to join forces.

Exclusive customized range

As of 2025, Asian growers will have access to the exclusive range of Sion genetics. Phalaenopsis propagation material is available in lab cups, plugs or as half-grown plants, with options in relation to color and variety. The first delivery of propagation material in plug trays is expected in 2025.

‘’I am really looking forward to this partnership, because the Asian market for Phalaenopsis is still growing. With Sion genetics, we are able to offer a distinctive product, compared to local suppliers. Deroose has a wide network on the Asian market and, above all, is very experienced in propagating tropical plants. An ideal combination for a successful future in the Asian orchid sector.’’ Says Randy van Paassen, Sales & Marketing Manager of Sion Young Plants.
