Suntory Flowers is granted patents for mandevillas

TOKYO, Japan - Suntory Flowers has been granted patent protections for plants and breeding methods of mandevilla hybrids with distinct pigments that create orange and yellow tones.

In the United States, the following Sun Parasol® varieties are included in the scope of claims:

Sun Parasol® Apricot, Sun Parasol® Original Sunbeam® and Sun Parasol® Giant Peach Sunrise, as well as a new upright variety that will be introduced during the Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE) this month. Two additional protected varieties are licensed to Fernlea Flowers and marketed as Calypso Limone and Samba Coral Pinwheel.
