First vertical greenhouse in China by Dutch architects

Van Bergen Kolpa Architects, an architecture studio based in the Netherlands, has been the studio in charge of designing China's first innovation center for urban food production for the horticultural company AgriGarden and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences CAAS. The building is located on the campus of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in the center of Beijing, China.

The farm is developed vertically throughout the building, which was planned taking into account aspects such as water reuse, passive heat gain and natural cooling, that is, so that the building demonstrates how food can be produced from sustainably in the urban environment. In addition to all these aspects, the architects managed to design an architecturally striking building.
