Horti Sustainable Packaging: manufacturers and suppliers ink

Ten horticulture packaging manufacturers and suppliers put their signatures to the new Horti Sustainable Packaging Initiative at Paardekooper’s Horti office on Tuesday, 4 July 2023.

Participants want to jointly accelerate sustainable packaging and thus make the floriculture sector more sustainable.

A year ago, Dutch Flower Group challenged the packaging companies to collaborate in  supply chain transparency and certification, circularity and life cycle assessments.

Greener packaging is also a way to anticipate existing or upcoming (EU) legislation. In the UK, for example, environmental taxes are already very high; in Germany, there is compulsory registration.

Commenting on the Horti Sustainable Packaging Initiative Marcel Zandvliet, CMO/CSO of Dutch Flower Group, stressed the importance of further cooperation in the packaging sector to make a global impact on sustainability and standardisation.
