Well-known varieties from Verheijenplants’ assortment include Lysimachia Elisabeth and Lysimachia Annelie, as well as the Hypericum Hipster series, cut flower varieties that are particularly suitable for bouquets. Among potted plants, Physalis Honey Bells stands out with its small, green and orange lanterns.
With the transfer of this assortment, breeder Fons Verheijen is assured that his life’s work will be continued. “My relationship with Jaap Stelder from Agriom goes back a long way,” says Fons Verheijen. “I am confidently handing over my genetics to Agriom, ensuring it will be preserved for the future.”
Jaap Stelder of Agriom explains that the genetics from Verheijenplants will be integrated into Agriom’s own operations. “In our laboratory, we produce virus- and disease-free starting material. And at our facilities in De Kwakel, we handle the cutting material for cultivation ourselves. We also have an international network that we will use to support the production of the assortment in key production areas.”
