IPM & Pollination Specialist, Germany

Main missions of the position

  • Provide high-level technical assistance and tailor made trainings to our distributors and growers in the territory of Germany.

  • Guide them in the optimal use of our products: bumblebees for pollination; biocontrol agents for pests and disease control (beneficial insects and mites, microbials); monitoring and scouting systems etc. in protected crops (vegetables, ornamentals, soft fruits…).

  • Define the most appropriate technical strategy for the clients of your area and for Biobest group.

  • Bring feedback from the field observations collected during visits with a complete reporting.

  • Analyze the needs of each market visited and define priorities in coordination with the Area Manager Germany.

  • Active collaboration within the international technical and commercial team of Biobest by attending meetings, exchanging constantly the knowledge of your area and theirs.

  • Organize and lead technical meetings to develop new bio-control and pollination strategies for our main distributors and end users.

  • Collaborate with other departments of Biobest to set up R&D trials or demo trials and to support new product development.

  • Create technical documents (technical sheets, presentations, posters…)

  • Participate in trade fairs, scientific symposia, workshops…

Profile required

  • Based in Germany, and occasionally travelling to foreign countries.

  • Bachelor or master degree in horticulture or agriculture.

  • Preferably 3 years of experience in IPM/biological control and bumblebee pollination in horticultural production (vegetable and berries are important crops, others are considered as a plus).

  • Technical minded person with a commercial feeling.

  • Great knowledge of the agricultural industry and greenhouse production practices in general.

  • Autonomous, focused, open, dedicated and flexible person, willing to spend time travelling all over Germany and abroad.

  • Good listener with capacity to analyze situations and take decisions. Able to lead meetings, with a positive and communicative attitude.

  • Languages spoken: Fluent in German and English. Other languages are a plus

  • Good experience in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Location: Germany
