What does the role of Group Manager Crop Support entail?
The Crop Support department comprises around 20 colleagues and is focused on giving support to all commercial crop related activities in the organization. Think of specialists on variety registration & protection, prices & assortment and biologicals. The Crop Support department is also responsible for policy development, a.o. around pricing and value capture. Making and keeping the assortment profitable is an important task.
The Group Manager Crop Support is together with a second Manager jointly responsible for the department. In this role you focus on the HR-aspects of managing the team and you play an important coaching role to the team towards more vision and strategy and hence taking the strategic crop plan to a next level . In this role you have extensive contact with colleagues from the commercial as well as from the breeding departments in The Netherlands and abroad.
You have strong people management skills and can build bridges between different people/teams. Developing a network in the crop organization enables you to be a good sparring partner for a.o. the crop manager. You understand the importance of long-term relationships and you have an inspirational leadership style which is both people- and results-oriented.
You have lots of initiative and autonomy, but above all you’re a real team player. You have strong communications skills and are energetic and enthusiastic. We are looking for someone who enjoys coaching and guiding employees. You have strong organisational skills, work in a structured manner and also enjoy taking a pragmatic approach to tackling challenges. You have knowledge about (macro) economic developments, cost price calculation, price setting , profitability and exchange rate issues. You don’t mind to travel occasionally. Needless to say, you speak fluent English.
In addition, your CV ticks the following boxes:
· A Master’s degree, e.g. in in economics or business administration
· At least 7-10 year relevant working experience
· Experience in a managerial role, enjoying working with many different people and teams
