The vacancy of Breeding Support Manager at Rijk Zwaan

As a Breeding Support Manager you are responsible together with the station manager for the operational management of one of our locations in Tanzania, Q-sem 1. At this moment Q-Sem 1 is in the middle of a transition process from a seed production station into a breeding support station. A key element of your work is to develop ownership of the company culture and the vision in your teams. You will lead a group of around 50 employees who are organizing the practical breeding activities. Team and personal development of the breeding team is your major activity. With support of HR performance meetings, individual development plans and personnel planning and recruiting needs to be organized. Furthermore, you will develop and sharing planning of the daily, weekly and yearly activities. You take care that skills and expertise of practical breeding work will be developed/trained. You are giving clear responsibilities and achievable instructions, whereby good communication is crucial.

We are looking for a Breeding Support Manager with:

- At least a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or any related field

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in management

- A people oriented leadership style

- Experience in Africa

- Good knowledge of English and native Kiswahili

Furthermore you enjoy coaching and mentoring your team and stimulate them to develop themselves. You are trustworthy, pro-active, and organized. You are ambitious, you take the initiative and have good communication skills. You have a strong passion for agriculture and rural Tanzania. Furthermore you have a high degree of motivation and you have the capability to become part of the international Rijk Zwaan team.
